RFID library systems

RFID library systems
For better security, flexibility and inventory management, an improved database and the ability to analyse trends. In addition, D-Tech was the first in the United Kingdom to introduce 24-hour vending systems for libraries.
RFID frees up staff and gives them the opportunity for more in-depth conversations with library visitors, the development of new services and better working conditions through faster and smarter RFID connections.
Since 2006 we have used the open Danish standard ISO 28560-3, which demonstrates our commitment to meeting all open standards in the industry.
This means you can choose from a range of products and services, each of which is open and compatible.
RFID products
RFID tags
The tags themselves are a core component of every RFID / RFIQ™ system. Without the tags, the rest of the system – gates, staff workstations or SelfCheck kiosks – could not function. It is also especially important to choose exactly the right tags for the way they will be used in your library. D-Tech’s RFID / RFIQ™ tags comply with ISO 18000-3 and ISO 15693 for the air interface, and the SLI-X chips can store data in the industry-standard format ISO 28560-2. We would also like to point out that the tags we offer carry a data retention guarantee of 40 years or 100,000 rewrites.
RFID station
The StaffPad station is used for check-out, check-in and renewal of library items at the staff desk. This product allows data to be added to the tag (programmable tags).
“Two products in one”.
It can be placed on or under the desk. Designed and manufactured by D-Tech, it focuses the detection field so that it reads tags placed on top of it. It cannot read tags to the side of or below the antenna. Made in the UK. It connects to a computer and the Library Management System – LMS. It can also work in offline mode – without an LMS connection. Supplied with software (D-Tech Conversion and D-Tech Circulation).
RFID inventory reader
The D-Tech RFID reader makes it easy to collect information from library items on the shelves in a single pass. The data is stored on a PDA handheld computer with Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The device can be carried by the staff member on a special clip connected directly to the RFID reader.
If you are looking for a specific item, the PDA will alert you with a visual and audible indicator. This lets you take inventory and search for an item at the same time. The multifunctional software lets you choose between several actions: initial inventory; misplaced or misshelved items; special media; reservations; number of loans.
Fast and easy data transfer allows staff to search for library items without the involvement of IT specialists to upload the required files.
The D-Tech RFID reader can also be used with RFID systems from other suppliers. Light and easy to use, it is currently the best on the market.
Self-check solutions
D-Tech RFID SelfCheck terminals are well known in libraries around the world. Their advantages include shorter queues, shorter waiting times, the option to extend opening hours, the possibility of a 24/7 service and staff who are free to help readers. D-Tech has also created a multifunctional terminal that allows not only borrowing and returning books, but also paying fees, rentals and much more. “The option to add services to your library services”
Our RFID SelfCheck terminals are created, designed and manufactured by D-Tech to deliver the best self-service capabilities, meeting current standards for data handling, accessibility requirements and operation in different environments.

Gate antennas
Our Plexiglas RFID gate system provides perimeter-based protection and improves alerting capabilities for any location where traditional RFID systems are not suitable or where stronger protection is needed.
Mounted in a sturdy Plexiglas frame with a metal base, the RFID gate system combines a visible barrier with an attractive design.
Our advanced digital RFID technology uses everything from modern digitally enhanced receivers to chip technology to ensure better detection and protection against false alarms.
The integrated lighting system is for visually impaired people and also indicates that the system is switched on and working.
The “GateViewer” software application summarises and identifies all incidents, with connection and troubleshooting status of the installed system. It is installed as a free-standing unit. Compatible with installations from other suppliers.
Returns and sorting
D-Tech can supply a wide range of return and sorting options to suit individual projects, such as 24Bookdrop™ and 24Bookreturn™.
